An inter-ply friction model for thermoset based fibre metal laminate in a hot-pressing process

چکیده

Forming process with pre-stacked and uncured thermoset fibre metal laminate offers improved deformability compared to full-cured especially for the production of complex structural components. This work investigated friction behaviour at metal-prepreg interface glass reinforced aluminium through an inter-ply test. The influence sliding velocity, normal force, orientation resin viscosity coupled temperature on static kinetic coefficients were studied. behavior in transition region between mixed hydrodynamic lubrication, showed a good agreement Stribeck-curve theory. While friction, modified Coulomb model was found fit experimental results. These models translated into phenomenological which incorporated Abaqus/Explicit as user-defined subroutine verification. findings contribute development forming laminates.
